Yorkshire Yogurt Steals The Show

The Wensleydale Creamery has won a hat-trick of trophies and taken home a further 10 prizes in another successful year at the 2015 Great Yorkshire Cheese & Dairy Show.

Showcasing its new luxury ‘Yorkshire Yogurt’ range for the first time at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate (14 – 16th July), The Wensleydale Creamery took the award for ‘Best Yogurt’ with its range of four new yogurts.

Yorkshire Yogurt was launched in selected Asda stores and independent retailers just last month. The naturally thick and creamy yogurt is made using Yorkshire milk, with nothing added except for a delicious fruit layer, and is available in four tempting flavours; Strawberry & Raspberry, Lemon Curd, Rhubarb & Vanilla and Toffee Apple.

The Creamery also picked up the prestigious Wensleydale Cup for its Special Reserve Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese, as well as Best Butter for its Dales Butter.

David Hartley, Managing Director at The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “We’re over the moon to have picked up so many prestigious accolades, and especially to have come away with the award for Best Yogurt only weeks after our new Yorkshire Yogurt range went on sale.

“We’re quite rightly proud of our Yorkshire heritage and are passionate about giving visitors to the Great Yorkshire Show a true taste of the Dales. The response at the show has been overwhelming and to be recognised with these awards at one of the nation’s premier agricultural shows is a real honour.”

The Great Yorkshire Show is one the North’s leading annual events, attracting over 100,000 visitors during the three day celebration of the region’s agricultural heritage.
