These Terms and Conditions explain your rights and obligations. Please read them carefully. You may have other rights granted by law and these Terms and Conditions do not affect these except if the two are inconsistent. If this is the case then these Terms and Conditions will override any other rights which you may have, unless this is not permitted by law.

Except where a specific means of communication is required by a provision of these Terms and Conditions, if you have any complaints or comments about our service or any goods you purchase or wish to contact us for any reason connected with your order you may contact us by telephone, fax or e-mail using the contact details specified above. Communication by e-mail will be regarded for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions as being written communication.

Voucher Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”)

These Terms and Conditions apply to the purchase of Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre physical gift vouchers sold and issued by Dairy Crest Limited, trading as Wensleydale Creamery (each a “Voucher”). When you purchase a Voucher, the contract is between you and us. Please read carefully before purchasing a Voucher. We may update these terms, but the terms in force when your order was accepted apply.

Important: The full value of the Voucher must be used on the same day (before the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre closes). Any remaining balance will then expire, even if the expiry date of the Voucher has not passed.

  1. Buying a Voucher
    1. A Voucher may be purchased in person at the Wensleydale Visitor Centre, via telephone 01969 667664 or online via our Wensleydale Creamery website.
    2. Your order of a Voucher is accepted, and a contract is formed between us:
      1. for in person purchases, immediately on sale; and
      2. for online and telephone purchases, when we send you an order confirmation by email, or where you do not have an email address, by post.
    3. We may decline an order before order confirmation, including due to unavailability, payment issues, delivery restrictions or suspected fraud. If payment has been taken, we will refund all amounts paid, including delivery charges.
    4. All orders are subject to availability.
    5. If a Voucher price is incorrect, we will contact you before accepting your order and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel. If we cannot contact you, we will cancel the order and refund any payment taken.
    6. Any delivery charge will be communicated before you place your order and included in total price.
  2. Using a voucher
    1. A Voucher represents a prepaid value equal to the amount stated on the voucher itself.
    2. A Voucher may be redeemed in person only for goods and services at Calvert’s Restaurant, 1897 Coffee Shop, Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience and the Cheese & Gift Shop at Wensleydale Visitor Centre (“Wensleydale Premises”). It cannot be redeemed online, including for online Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience bookings.
    3. A Voucher may not be used to purchase another Voucher.
    4. A Voucher may not be exchanged for cash, except where required by law.
    5. A Voucher is transferable and does not have to be used by the original purchaser. Resale or commercial distribution of Vouchers is strictly prohibited.
    6. Subject to clause 2.i, a Voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue, the expiry date is on each Voucher. After expiry, it cannot be used, any unused balance will not be refunded, except where required by law.
    7. To use a Voucher, the original physical Voucher must always be presented. Order confirmation, photographs, copies or other representations will not be accepted.
    8. A Voucher may be used as part payment, with the balance paid by another accepted method.
    9. A Voucher may be used across multiple purchases on the date it is first redeemed. Any balance remaining at the end of that day, when the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre closes, will expire and cannot be used, even if the Voucher’s stated expiry date has not passed.
    10. Multiple Vouchers may be used in the same transaction.
    11. We may refuse or cancel any Voucher we reasonably suspect is counterfeit, fraudulent, an unauthorised duplicate, or that is damaged.
    12. Please treat the Voucher as cash; except where required by law, we are not responsible for any Voucher that is lost, stolen, destroyed or used after delivery.
    13. These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights regarding goods or services purchased using a Voucher.
  3. Delivery (for online and telephone orders)
    1. Vouchers will be delivered to the address provided by you by post for a standard delivery charge. Vouchers can only be delivered to UK mainland addresses.
    2. Please ensure the delivery address is correct and complete.
    3. Please contact us if your Voucher has not arrived within 14 days after dispatch or if your Voucher arrives damaged. Where we have sent the Voucher to the address provided and it has not been delivered or arrives damaged, we will investigate and, where appropriate, cancel the original Voucher code and issue a replacement. We are not responsible for delay or non-delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by you.
    4. Risk in a Voucher passes to you when it is delivered to the address provided by you.
  4. Cancellation rights (for online and telephone orders)
    1. If you purchase a Voucher online or over the phone, you have the right to cancel your order at any time up to 14 days after the day you receive the Voucher (the “Cancellation Period”).
    2. To cancel, your Voucher must be unused. You must inform us before the Cancellation Period ends by email at customerservice@wensleydale.co.uk or post to our Correspondence Address, stating you wish to cancel your order. You may use the model cancellation form at the end of these T&Cs.
    3. If the Voucher has been delivered when you cancel, you must return the Voucher within 14 days after informing us of your cancellation. If the Voucher had not been delivered when you cancelled, you must return the Voucher without undue delaying once received.
    4. You must return the Voucher at your cost to our correspondence address Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, Gayle Lane, Hawes, DL83RN.
    5. For valid cancellations, we will refund you:
      1. a Voucher’s full value and original delivery charge to your original payment method; and
      2. without undue delay and within 14 days of your cancellation. If the Voucher was already dispatched when you cancelled, we may withhold the refund until it is returned, or you provide evidence of return. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  5. Personal information: Where personal data is processed in relation to your purchase, this will be in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Please see our Privacy Notice.
  6. Governing law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute may be dealt with by the English courts or, if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, by the courts where you live. You retain any mandatory consumer rights applicable where you live.

Loyalty Card Terms and Conditions

1. By completing the Loyalty Card form you give permission for Wensleydale Creamery to add you to their newsletter database.

2. The details you provide will be used only by Wensleydale Creamery to keep you informed of news, new products and services, and for conducting market research by email and post. We may also use your data to tailor and personalise content and adverts and analyse our traffic. Please refer to our Privacy Policy at wensleydale.co.uk for details.

3. The Loyalty Card is the property of Wensleydale Creamery, Gayle Lane, Hawes, North Yorkshire DL8 3RN and is non-transferable.

4. The Loyalty Card must only be used by the person named on the card who must be 16 years or over. Proof of identity may be requested. 

5. The Loyalty Card is not a cheque guarantee, debit or credit card and may only be used in The Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience at the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Experience and not online. 

6. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend the loyalty scheme at any time, as well as reject any loyalty card that appears to be photocopied, counterfeit, defaced or damaged.

 

Competition Terms and Conditions

Competitions are in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. You are providing your information to Wensleydale Creamery and not to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. This includes competitions hosted on our Wensleydale Creamery Social Media pages. 

The information you provide will only be used for administering competitions, contacting the winner and adding the entrant to our marketing lists. There will be an option to opt out of marketing lists at the bottom of emails sent to you. Please see our full Privacy Policy for further information.

The winner(s) will be chosen at random from all eligible entries that are submitted by the closing date stated on the competition page, form or post. In event of any dispute the judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered.

The prize for the competition will be stated on the competition page, form or post. No cash alternatives will be offered. No purchase is necessary to win. Purchase does not enhance chance of winning. This contest is void where prohibited. Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by Wensleydale Creamery. Wensleydale Creamery reserve the right to provide an alternative prize. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at Wensleydale Creamery's discretion. The prize is non-transferable. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by the winner is permitted. Prize will be shipped within thirty business days of claim by prize winner.

The winner will be notified via email/comment. Wensleydale Creamery shall have no liability for the winner's failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for the winner's provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within thirty business days from the time award notification was sent, the prize may be forfeited, and an alternative winner selected.

Competition is open to entrants who are over 16 years of age. Entrants must be residents of mainland UK. We are unable to deliver to these postcode areas. This competition is not open to employees of Wensleydale Creamery and their affiliates, agencies, suppliers, sponsors and members of employees' immediate families.

Wensleydale Creamery reserves the right to hold void, suspend or cancel the promotion at any time where it is reasonable to do so. By entering a competition, entrants agree to these terms and conditions. Wensleydale Creamery reserves the right to verify all entries and winners and disqualify an entrant where they are found to be in breach of these terms and conditions. We will not share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.


Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience Online Booking

Please read the terms and conditions carefully before ordering your tickets. Upon purchasing tickets to visit The Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience, you are agreeing to comply with these conditions.

1. Bookings are only valid for the stipulated and agreed date and time shown in the booking confirmation email. 

2. A confirmation email will be sent once the payments have been authorised and received. This email will have your unique booking reference on and will act as your receipt and entry ticket. Please bring this with you (either printed out or on your phone) and present it at the desk on your arrival.  

3. Your email address is used for your booking confirmation.

4. Tickets are non-transferable 

5. No refunds or rebates are provided for cancellations.

6. In the event of unforeseen circumstances where we need to cancel or change timings, we will contact you.

8. Children under 5 enter for free so don’t need a ticket.

9. Please review your tickets to make sure you have the right quantity, date and time before booking.

10. The Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience and our Visitor Centre is wheelchair friendly, however we are unable to offer wheelchairs on site.  

11. If you are visually or hearing impaired, please let our team know when you arrive, and they will do their best to accommodate your needs during the demonstrations.

12. No dogs are permitted inside the attraction, with the exception of assistance dogs.
