Sue’s Famous home-made Oatcakes
Serves 30 Prepare in 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 8oz Plain Flour
  • 8oz Rolled Oats
  • 4oz Caster Sugar
  • 4oz Margarine
  • 4oz Yorkshire Butter
  • Good Pinch of Salt
  • ½ teaspoon of bicarbonate of Soda
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk

Method

  1. Rub plain flour, rolled oats, caster sugar, margarine, Yorkshire Butter and salt together
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together ½ teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda, teaspoon of vinegar and tablespoons of milk
  3. Bring both mixtures together until a dough is made
  4. Roll out as thinly as possible for a crispier biscuit and place on a tray lined with grease proof paper
  5. Bake at 170 for 15 mins or until ready and just starting to turn in colour but not brown.
