The Wensleydale Creamery greeted Masterchef’s Tom Rennolds at their home at Hawes this week, as part of his Best of Yorkshire Food tour.
Tom Rennolds, from Silsden and a finalist from this year’s Masterchef, has embarked on a week-long tour in search of Yorkshire’s best produce and restaurants, in a celebration of the county’s best delicacies, along with local entrepreneur Jonny Ross.
The intrepid culinary duo received a warm Wensleydale welcome at the Creamery, to sample and learn about their crumbly cheese heritage and original taste. They were hosted by the creamery’s top experts in the heart of the company’s Creamery – to see at first hand the handcrafting and maturing of its cheese.
The Wensleydale Creamery sources milk from local farmers to handcraft cheese in Wensleydale and employs over 200 people from the surrounding area, making its portfolio of products truly Yorkshire.
David Hartley, managing director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “We are a company very proud of our Yorkshire heritage and glad to welcome Tom and Jonny as part of their journey to sample Yorkshire’s best.
“We recently revitalised our packaging to depict the iconic Wensleydale scenery in celebration of our company’s origin in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We are thrilled to see the county’s product being celebrated in this way and we wish Tom and Jonny the very best in their experience of Yorkshire’s finest foods.”
