How to find Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries cheese

The Wensleydale Creamery is the only maker of ‘Yorkshire Wensleydale’ cheese, which has been protected with European protected food name status since December 2013. The ‘Yorkshire’ element of the title is incredibly important; it differentiates our unique & special cheese, handcrafted right here in the heart of Wensleydale to a time-honoured recipe, from the other Wensleydale cheeses that are still made elsewhere around the country and found on the shelves of many retailers and delis today.

It is our unique Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese that we carefully combine with cranberries – so the first thing to look out for are the words ‘Yorkshire Wensleydale’ in the title. If it doesn’t say Yorkshire, then it’s not from Wensleydale.

You should also look out for our brand logo  and the European symbol  which act as guarantees of quality and authenticity.

Just like many other products such as cereals and baked beans, our cheese can be found in our branded packaging, but also in the packaging of the different retailers too. This is where it can be potentially a little more confusing………

So, to help you may an informed choice, we have assembled this handy image (see top) to help you recognise our Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries cheese, just in case you can’t find our branded pack. Happy shopping!
