A fresh perspective at the Creamery.
We’re delighted to welcome local painter Maxine Ahmed as our in-house artist from September.

Whilst the views of the Yorkshire Dales that surround us here at the Creamery are spectacular, visitors to our Visitors Centre will also now be treated to some artwork inspired by the area’s stunning vistas, thanks to a new partnership with local artist Maxine.
Originally inspired as a child by her father’s love for painting local scenes, watercolour artist Maxine, who lives just up the road from us in the neighbouring town of Leyburn, creates watercolour paintings inspired by the area as well as the flora and fauna that can be found here – and we know you’re going to love them!
Maxine says: “I’m delighted to partner with the team here at Wensleydale Creamery and have my work displayed in their lovely Visitor Centre. As a hub for visitors both local and from further afield, it’s great to have a wide-reaching audience for my paintings, in such a picturesque setting within the Dales.

“The area itself is such a constant source of inspiration for me and I’m always in awe of this fantastic, powerful landscape and always striving to capture just some of its majesty and beauty.
“I love to submerge myself in the landscape and will often do that, literally sitting in a field full of wildflowers with the hum of insects all around, swimming in the river or climbing to the top of a hill. What a privilege to be able to do that just outside our front door!
“One of the beauties of painting in watercolour is its spontaneity. I’m quite an impatient person and am often desperate to get an idea down on paper. Watercolour is magic!”

Following a career in nursing, her hobby and talent have now become her occupation, and the walls of Calvert’s Restaurant here at the Creamery will be adorned with some of her fabulous works from Tuesday 5th September onwards.
What’s more, all the paintings on display, whilst you enjoy your lunch with us, are available to buy. So, whilst you indulge your taste buds during your visit, you’ll also be able to immerse yourself in Maxine’s fabulous artwork and select your favourite one to take home.
