Did you know that we, The Wensleydale Creamery only supply 44% of the Wensleydale cheese sold by UK retailers??

The remaining 56% of Wensleydale cheese sold in the UK is made elsewhere in counties such as Lancashire, Cheshire & Shropshire.

We have recently carried out some market research with our consumers……and found that: Customers are unaware that not all Wensleydale is from Wensleydale.

So what?

The majority of customers did ‘care’ about this, sharing an attitude where they demand quality, expect authenticity, understand the benefits of provenance and want to know what goes into their food.

So what are we doing about this?

We are starting a ‘Making Provenance Matter’ Campaign & introducing the Stamp of Authenticity. The Stamp of Authenticity will be associated with our brand, to raise the issue that not all Wensleydale is from Wensleydale.
